Direction for reaching BNC 2009 conference venue and stay:

The directions for reaching BNC 2009 (United Theological College -“UTC”)

are given below. Basically we have covered 5 options (From SBC, YPR, KJM,

BNC and Bangalore International Airport).

First rule of survival:

If none of the following 5 options work for your or you lost your way, some how reach Bangalore Cant station.

Find your way to platform 2 exit and follow the further direction given under “Walk from BNC Platform 2 to UTC“.

No	Arriving @	Option	Direction	Remarks
	Bangalore City Junction (SBC)	a)	Take next available train to BNC and get down on platform 2. Follow direction given under “Walk from BNC Platform 2 to UTC” Note: Trains coming form SBC to BNC normally received on platform 2 and it is very unlikely to be received on platform 1
		b)	Take an auto (avoid taxi) from pre-paid counter (SBC has Pre-paid counter both at front and back entrance) Arrive at the front gate of BNC (avoid coming to BNC back gate from SBC by auto as it very long due to one ways you may end up covering additional 3 km more). Enter into BNC main entrance and get to platform 2 exit. Note: From main entrance of BNC to platform 2 exit of BNC, you may have to enter into the platform and exit through platform 2 using foot over bridge. Follow further direction given under “Walk from BNC Platform 2 exit to UTC“.	(Platform ticket will be required – legally speaking) Auto may charge 50 Rupees from SBC to BNC
	Yeshwantpur (YPR)	a)	If your train passes through KJM, you may get down at KJM and follow the directions given for “Delegates arriving at KJM”. (Refer to no 3 ) Note: This option is better as you will arrive almost 1 hour before @ KJM than YPR and save some time.
		b)	Arrive at YPR Exit on platform 6 side (it will be on the right side as you arrive) Do not exit on the platform 1 exit and auto guys are notorious on this side. Go to pre-paid auto counter and get an auto for Bangalore Cant. back side. Ask the auto driver to go via Yeshwantpur circle, Mekhri Circle, TV Tower, Jaymahal Road, Nandi Durga Road, and finally Millers Road. On the Millers road (it is one way) you will find UTC on the right side and Rail Guest House on the left side (as the traffic goes on this road). Ask the auto driver to stop in front on UTC and get inside. UTC is just 100 meters before BNC back entrance. If you miss UTC, reach back entrance of BNC and follow further direction given under “Walk from BNC Platform 2 to UTC”)	Auto may charge 50 to 75 rupees (max)
3	Krishna Raja Puram (KJM)	a)	Take next available train to BNC. (All trains arrive at KJM does not go to BNC. Please confirm that train goes to BNC before boarding) Arrive at BNC platform 1 use foot over bridge to come to platform 2. Use exit at platform 2 and follow the further direction given under “Walk from BNC Platform 2 to UTC“.
		b)	Hire an auto from KJM and ask the auto driver to come to BNC back entrance (Ask the auto driver to use Miller road approach) Ask the auto driver to go via Old Madras Road, Ulsoor Lake, StJohns Church Road,go past Coles Park,go under the Railway Bridge at Benson town, take the left fork at the Masjid(after Benson town Post Office) and proceed along Millers Road.(It is one way). The UTC will be on the right side of the road,opposite the Railway Rest House. Ask him to drop in front of UTC (it will on the right hand side 100 meters before the BNC entrance) or Rail guest house (on the left side). If you miss UTC , reach back entrance of BNC and follow further direction given under “Walk from BNC Platform 2 to UTC“)	Auto guy may charge around Rs 75 to 100 during day time.
4	Bangalore Cant. (BNC)		Trains going towards SBC will normally arrive on platform 1 Delegates need to use foot over bridge to come to platform 2. Use exit at platform 2 and follow the further direction given under “Walk from BNC Platform 2 exit to UTC“.
5	Bangalore Airport (BAIL)	a)	Take BAIS bus from the BMTC bus bay. Ask for buses going to Bangalore Cantonment Station back side (I think it route number BIAS 6 and BIAS 7 – But just reconfirm). Ask the BIAS driver to stop 100 meters before cantonment station on the Millers road in front of United Theological collect (UTC). Most drivers oblige and stop. On the millers road (it is one way) you will find UTC on the RIGHT side and Rail Guest House on the LEFT side. if any confusion, get down at BNC back gate and reach platform 2 exit and follow “Walk from BNC Platform 2 exit to UTC“)	BIAS charges around 100 to 150
		b)	Take a Meru cab or Easy cab. These guys go strictly by meters and no need to worry. (Do not try other cabs as they may charge more than meter or fleece you). Ask the cab driver to Cantonment station back side (miller road side. The cab will come via Mekheri Circle, TV Tower, Jaymahal Road, Nandi Durga Road, and finally Millers Road. On the millers road (it is one way) you will find UTC on the RIGHT side and Rail Guest House on the LEFT side. Ask the driver to stop in front on UTC and get inside. if any confusion, get down at BNC back gate and reach platform 2 exit and follow “Walk from BNC Platform 2 exit to UTC“	Taxi may come around 600 Rupees. Taxis are reliable if you take Meru or Easy Cab
6	Walk from BNC Platform 2 exit to UTC	a)	Exit from BNC on platform 2. At the exit point, you will find a small snacks/tea restaurant “Oasis Cafeteria” at the in front of you at the platform 2 exit. Walk on the small road to your right side (this is less populated). After 75 or 100 meters of walk, you will find offices of the CAO, Construction, SWR. Take left turn and this road will lead you a wide main road. You will find UTC entrance at diagonally opposite on the right side. Cross the main road carefully (road traffic expected to be high). We had sent goggle earth direction and it is also give in next page. Refer to this diagram and follow the white line. Note: During night time, it may be dark. There is no safety issue/concern. But If you don’t like to venture this route during nights, please consider option b) given below
		b) Consider during night time if you do not want to take chance in dark	Take left turn on the small road as you get out of BNC platform 2 exit. (You will find many cars parked on this side) Keep walking on this road on the right side till you hit a junction after 100 meters. (you will find road construction activity and a HP petrol pump) Do not cross the road or go below rail under bridge. Simply take a the wide road joining from your right side.(This is Millers Road) This will be almost 180 degrees and you will have to take an “U” turn. Keep walking on the foot path on right side of Millers Road until you reach Rail guest house on to your right side. You will see UTC opposite to Rail Guest House. Cross this road and reach UTC. Be careful while crossing this road and traffic is normally heavy. Note: Refer to the diagram given below. This option is marked in RED marked on the diagram. You walk on the right side and take an “U” Turn and walk toward UTC on the main road. You may have to walk 2 more minutes. Finally follow the white marking where the Red line ends to reach into UTC.
