E-ticket service of irctc has gone worse since last 8 months, and the new system of tatkal of issuing ticket from boarding point to end of journey point, because of these systme, we have to pay agents some cash to get the ticket. It seems like railways are least bothered abt the public, as they are government employ that is why they dont check the system at all. today i tried to book my ticket from sbc to njp and couldn’t book it. system showed a msg ” service not avialable “.
Last week i tried booking a tatkal ticket from njp to sdah, but could only find darjeeling mail as a option. where as last year i could find ticket available in all the train.
This new system is rediculas, and mamta banerjee should take a look at it by booking a ticket by her self, as there is no option of changing boarding station in tatkal, so why r you charging an extra money if u cant provide a good service.
and stop saying that you are promoting a e service in india. that’s just a bull sheat.
an indian government is promoting a e-service so must opt paper less option for the passanger for e-ticket, by allowing them to show a sms send by railways as a ticket in mobile to stop wastage of paper and ask customer to provide i d prove for verification.
i hope this message will reach mamta banerjee, so that she can keep some check on system, and upgrade the available sytem with better quality.

ZONAL PRIVATISATION SHOULD BE SUPPORTED TO PROMOTE BETTER SERVICE.

ZONAL SERVER SHOULD BE OPTED FOR BOOKING.

    PASSANGER E-TICKET SHOULD BE OPTED.

2 DAY TATKAL SCHEME SHOULD CHANGE TO 3 DAY TATKAL, BECAUSE PEOPLE FROM NORTH SIKKIM, CAN REACH IN TIME TO THE NEAREST STATION, MAY BE DUE TO STRIKE OR TRANSPORTAION ISSUE TAKING PLACE FREQUENTLY.

BOARDING POINT SHOULD BE ALLOWED IN TATKAL,

REMOVAL OF POINT TO POINT BOOKING SHOULD BE REMOVED. THIS SYSTEM WILL ONLY SAVE FEW AMOUNT, BUT IF PERSON IS PAYING Rs 100, THEN THEY CAN PAY Rs 50 MORE FOR CONFIRM TICKET INSTED OF FERRING ON BUS,

TOURIST COMMING TO GANGTOK HAS TO OPT FOR BUS SERVICE BECAUSE OF LACK OF RAILWAYS CONCERN THAT THE BOOKING FROM NJP TO SDAH IS ONLY OFFERED IN DARJEELING MAIL, AND NOT IN KANCHANKANYA, KANCHANJUNGA, UTTARBANGA, TEESTA TORSA, SARAIGHAT.

E-TICKET SERVICE SHOULD HAVE EXTRA FEATURES, SO THEY DON’T HAVE TO VISIT COUNTERS, LIKE IN GANGTOK THE RAILWAY COUNTER CLOSES AT 2 PM AND ON HOLIDAY AT 11 AM, I LOST Rs 3200, DUE TO THIS SERVICE.

ADVANCE PAYMENT SYSTEM TO RAILWAY FOR BOOKING SHOULD BE PROMOTED SO THAT WHILE BOOKING WE DON’T HAVE TO WAIT FOR PAYMENT, AS I HAVE FAILED TO BOOK TICKET NO OF TIME DUE TO PAYMENT SYSTEM.

IRCTC SHOULD OPT FOR FASTER SERVER, IF THEY ARE EARNING, THAN THEY SHOULD SPEND SOME FOR BETTER FACILITY.

OLD DESIGN BOGGIE AND ENGINE SHOULD BE UPGRADED TO NEW TECHNOLOGY, AS BEING USED IN WESTER COUNTRIES. WITH THE HELP OF ENGINEERS. IF GOVERNMENT STARTS THINKING NOW, I AM SURE THE PROJECT WILL START IN NEXT 7 – 8 YEARS, BECAUSE OF SYSTEM BEING SO LONG AND SYSTEMATIC.

SO GOVERNMENT SHOULD START THINKING NOW FOR UPGRADE AS WHEN THE UPGRADATION WILL START IT WILL TAKE HUGE AMOUNT OF TIME BECAUSE OF RAILWAYS SYSTEM IS TOO LARGE TO BE COVERED IN ONE PHASE.

I am working as Secretary to Editor in Times of India, Ahmedabad. I have been closely watching development of Bhavnagar / Alang/ Dholera for the last 30 years. While, it is well known Tarapur-Bhavnagar, Bhavnagar-Mahuva via Alang broad-guage is a demand for the last 40 years, I would suggest you may at least convert Gandhigram (in Ahmedabad)-Botad into broadguage and give a 35 km new broad-guage between Bhimnath and Sihor. This could give direct broadguage link from Gandhinagar (Ahmedabad city) to Bhavnagar via Botad, Dhandhuka, Bhimnath, Vallabhipur, Sihor.

I also suggest please give at least 3 to 4 Bhavnagar coaches of SL/ one 3AC in 9221 Somnath Express leaving Ahmedabad at 22.00 hrs daily. This can be disconnected at Surendranagar and joined to 208 Bhavnagar Passenger running between Okha and Bhavngar via Surendranagar. This train departs Surendrangar at 1.15 am.

Similar arrangement can also be done from Bhavnaga to Ahmedabad. The idle coaches in Bhavnagar can be used for Palitana. This can help lot of passengers between Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad. SP Iyer

It would be useful if you could introduce one more train from Mumbai to Jammu apart from Swaraj Express. Preferably Garibh rath or Rajdhani or mail express trains since there is only one trains plying from Mumbai to jammu which is always full.

    Good Day sir,

-I would like to inform you about a part in your system which i believe might help the poor people if amended
    – I bought the train the ticket from Jalandhar city to Saharanpur for general compartment, for a train which was coming withing 15min as per the enquiry counter.

    – A train came which was going to saharanpur , I boarded that train.

-Later the ticket checker came and declared that with that particular ticket i was not suppose to board this train as this train is super fast, one one coming after would have been my train. He started taking fines from many passengers as many were ignorant as i was about this difference in price of the ticket.

    – My point is he did not take fine from all but let them go with 50rs in his personal account. I don’t want to increase the corruption in our country so paid 250+10rs difference between the cost of the tickets.

-My suggestion is that train ticket prices shall be rationalized. The distinction shall be made only in case of passenger trains and other long distance train.

-The prices should be made same, That day lot of poor people paid unnecessary fine for their ignorance and faulty system.

-If you wish to go deep into this matter, feel free to contact me through e-mails.I still have fine slip with me, you can cross check how many actual penalties were made.

    HI,
Most of the Rajasthani people have an issue with the Jaipur-Pune train, as its boarding time from Jaipur is 9:00am, this is not a suitable time for many more people.. at least it should be at 12.30pm or after 12:00pm. Please consider this request because most the people stay in villages which are far apart from Jaipur, so it takes minimum 4-5 hrs to come from there to Jaipur.
Kindly consider this request on behalf of many Rajasthani people and do the needful for us.

    Thanks,
    Kiran Kadyan

EKTA EXPRESS 14795/96Ekta Express- The Great Difficulty Express
The Ekta express has been the great difficulty express for the people of the Bhiwani, Rohtak, Gohana, Panipat districts of Haryana. It is a train with the burden to carry 1000’s of daily pessengers, families, bussinessmen, students and tourists travelling between Bhiwani and Chandigarh. The major problem is that train is linked to Himalyan Queen Express in its common route from Panipat to Kalka. We understand that it may be saving the running costs but the share for the Bhiwani/Rohtak side passengers is way less. We have got only 5 general boggies for our share, whereas only one train runs from Bhiwani to Chd and Chd to Bhiwani in a day. Dehli, Chandigarh is linked to with many a trains and it would be great if Ekta Express is expanded to accomodate more pessengers. Ac-Sleeper coaches would be a great advantage for senior citizens, bussiness class, families and tourists. Their may be considered a fesibilty to run the train independently as it can than be run on its own saving the half an hour delay at the Panipat station as per the linkage of two trains.
This is also an appeal to people travelling on this route, to please comment and raise a voice for the betterment of the railways in the district.
We would be thankfull to Indian Railways if our problem is considred for the feasibility surveys

It has become extremely difficult to buy Platform tickets at high rush railway stations, also due to running ques and lack of small coin. The tickets may be made available on line with IRCTC, valid 3 hours before arrival and one hour after departure for an outgoing/ incoming train. Ticket printout can be a roll out per person say i.e.if 3 tickets bought a single printout with 3 tear-offs. The price may be slightly higher than that of a booking counter ticket and may be booked along with ticket reservations, as credit card agencies do not accept small amounts below Rs.50/- Passengers arriving in would email PF Tickets to their kin awaiting to receive passengers in inbound train. Railways/IRCTC may examine the feasibility of the suggestion

  • 23. Aditya D. Karmarkar , Nagpur Maharashtra  |  December 23, 2013 at 17:49

There are large number of daily commuters between Nagpur and Bhusawal via wardha Badnera Akola. As such daily intercity exp may be started from nagpur by 6.00 am and will reach bhusawal by 13.00 hrs. In the return journey this train may leave Bhusawal by 4.00 p.m and will reach nagpur by 10.00 pm. It is to mention that after Gitanjali exp, there is no direct train to Nagpur from bhusawal, causing trouble to passengers. As Shegaon is the important pilgrimage centre on this route many devotees of nagpur has to travel up to wardha by either passenger or by navjeevan exp which has no room even to stand in general coaches. It is therefore suggested new train or to extend Jabalpur -Amaravati exp upto Bhusawal

    TO,
    THE RAILWAY MINISTER,
    THE INDIAN RAILWAY,
    RESPECTED SIR,
I have been travelling from chennai to mumbai from past 20 years.there are only 3 direct trains that are chennai-mumbai express,chennai-cst and mumbai mail out of which 2 trains take 23-26 hours respectively and one takes 36 hours.all these trains are always full.
My suggestion is that some fast trains like shatabhdi or rajdani should be intoduced which could help us reach in 14-16 hours and also new rail line should be constructed.I hope my suggestion would be considered.

    To,
    The Railway Minister,
    Indian Railways,

    Respected Sir,

I have a concern about the Double-Decker train which is plying between two major cities of our country (Bangalore & Chennai). It has been grateful that Government had taken this initiative to break the rush hours to the public between the two major cities (mentioned earlier). This mentioned train if it can be replaced by Jan-Shatabdi it would be more grateful and useful to the common public which will most probably be more affordable and more comfortable. It is sorry to say that most of the travellers found the Double-Decker train seats are not comfortable. We ensure that the timings can remain the same.

Looking forward to see that it can be considered.

    Thanking you,
    Yours Sincerely,
    Mirza Nazir Hussain

    An appeal to the Railways.

Indian Railway’s Tatkal Scheme at the cost of RAC/General Wait-listed Passengers and Anti- Senior Citizens

Tatkal reservation in the Indian Railways had started as a good concept when additional coaches called Tatkal coaches used to be attached to some identified trains and any unutised berths were released to the Wait Listed passengers (without premium).Hence it not only provided additional berths in the train which resulted in extra revenue for the railways of Tatkal charges and in addition also helped the needy open category wait-listed passengers .
But with a view to generate extra revenue through a side door ,the railways decided to reduce the general quota in trains by almost 30% and earmarked thus made available berths for Tatkal Quota at a stiff premium at maximum rates by declaring the entire year as peak season except from 01 Feb to 31 Mar and 01 Aug to 31Aug.The original time tested system of attaching additional coaches to some trains has now been replaced by earmarking a few Tatkal berths in each compartment by reducing the existing open category berths in each compartment at the cost of open category which was already meager due to various existing quotas like Pooled/Remote Location Quota, ticket agencies quota, Head Office/High Official/VIP quota, Defence Quota, Foreign Tourists Quota, Handicapped Travellers Quota, Railway Staff travelling on Duty Quota, Ladies Quota etc.

Under the Tatkal Scheme the number of berths earmarked for 2A is 10 Seats per coach, for 3A-16 berths per coach and for CC -16 Seats per coach and for sleeper 20% of the available accommodation, where the utilization of Tatkal accommodation is more than 80% . This has literally forced the general public to buy tickets in Tatkal Quota at premium right through the year in keeping the Tatkal utilization almost 100% i.e., 100% extra Tatkal charges.

Even the Senior Citizens were not spared since all tatkal tickets were made full fare ticket and hence they had to shell out additional amount(the difference between full ticket plus tatkal charges and senior citizen normal ticket vis a vis the difference between full ticket plus tatkal charges and full ticket charges) to the tune of almost double of those paid by general tatkal ticket holders who pay just additional tatkal charges plus their fare while senior citizen pay full fare plus tatkal chrges. It is ironic that a senior citizen pays less for a 2AC normal concessional ticket than a 3AC Tatkal Ticket. This beats all logic and wisdom.A senior citizen should ideally be made to pay tatkal charges only on his senior citizen rate and not full.Do you want to punish a poor senior citizen for the concession he is rewarded.

There is no refund for Tatkal tickets but to generate more and more revenue with no concern to the general public,it has been decided to permit waiting list on Tatkal Tickets. Since additional revenue can be generated only if a Tatkal ticket is confirmed, the railways have decided ways and means to confirm tatkal tickets including diversion of last minute cancellations, unfilled quotas, or if any confirmed ticket holders are given a free upgrade etc, which was earlier the prerogative of the RAC Ticket holders but has now become the privilege of the Tatkal Ticket holders.

The implication is that it is now rare to get a confirmed ticket even on the first day of the booking and the general waiting list hardly moves with very limited chances of confirmation even at the time of journey even after 2 months. In fact the railways are on one side depriving confirmed reservations to the Wait-listed/RAC passengers by clearing Tatkal wait-listed passengers by charging them unjustified Maximum Tatkal charges mostly at the peak season rates and RAC Passengers are in the bargain made to rough it out on shared berth even on long distance journeys. It is common to see even RAC 1/2 not getting cleared now a days while Tatkal Wait-list moves fast enough to earn revenues in the last 2 days for the railways particularly at the cost of RAC Passengers who are made to share a single berth but railways conveniently collects 2 full fares by providing just one berth between 2 passengers.

It may be recalled that RAC Quota was decided on the basis of average cancellations/availability and was always confirmed at the time of making the chart. In fact, those RAC after the preparation of the chart were also confirmed after checking the tickets.Hence the significance of the RAC concept has been rendered redundant, if the chances of RAC of confirmation are now neligible.

Can the new Government stop this anti aad aadmi practice of generating revenue for the railways through a back(side)door
at the cost of senior citizens and aam aadmi..

    The Indian Railways
    Respected sir,
Today I tried to reserve my berth from Timarni to Satna for 3/10/14. it was showing waiting list. It is my request that make it compulsory to produce photocopy of identity card at the time reservation for each person because bogus reservation is being made to harass the general public. And at the time for cancellation of reserved ticket, they should also produce the same photocopy of identity card. I think it will minimize the bogus reservation.
    With regards,

Sir, who was developed the system of irctc for tickets booking through ineternet is very good and it is very facilitative to meet poeple’s desire at challenging level. but sir my suggestion is that all nationalized and some private banks are incorporated in irctc net banking list except “INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK ‘for ticket booking . So please this bank also to be incorporated in the net banking existing list of IRCTC system, which is very easy for transaction from our salarized account of ” INDIAN OVREAS BANK.for ticket booking through irctc website and net banking transaction , awaiting for needful action at your end
    thanks
